Zoe Smith partners with Sports Direct as an Equal Play Ambassador

ISC client Zoe Smith has announced a new partnership with Sports Direct, signing on as an Equal Play Ambassador with the sportswear giant.

Equal Play is a campaign that seeks to improve the visibility of women in the sporting world. Over the next four years, Sports Direct look to make an tangible impact on the gender pay gap that exists in professional sports. This is in addition to the showcasing and celebrating of women in sports.

The issue is something that is incredibly prevalent right now and something very close to Zoe’s heart. As Zoe herself said in her Instagram post announcing the partnership:

“There are huge inequalities in sport, especially when it comes to gender and it’s time for change…I really want to see more visibility of women in sports, and especially weightlifting, to encourage the next generation to see it as a viable option for them.”

Zoe appears in the campaign alongside the likes of distance runner Revée Walcott-Nolan, TikToker and non-league striker Harry Cain, fitness coach and ultra-endurance athlete Sophie Grace Holmes, women’s football content creator Nancy Baker, and boxer Ramla Ali amongst many others.
